General Objective

This unit aims to oversee the university’s academic rankings portfolio and to design and implement sustainable development plans that improve institutional performance and enhance the university’s standing in local, regional, and international rankings.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement strategies to improve the university’s position in local, regional, and international rankings by prioritizing the most relevant rankings through:

a. Conducting regular analyses of ranking criteria at all levels.

b. Communicating with ranking agencies and their consultants to obtain required information, and coordinating with university departments and academic/administrative units to provide accurate data and evidence.

c. Performing regular benchmarking with top global and regional universities, identifying gaps compared to best practices.

d. Building a database, in coordination with university units, to track ranking criteria, indicators, and sources, while monitoring global higher education trends and updating accordingly.

e. Forming task forces from unit members and others to prepare ranking submission files in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

f. Promoting a culture of competitiveness among faculty through workshops and training programs to enhance awareness of ranking standards and requirements.

2. Collect and analyze ranking-related data, establish mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the university’s KPIs against global benchmarks, track results in international rankings, and provide periodic performance reports.

3. Contribute to strengthening institutional competitiveness and enhancing the university’s academic reputation by showcasing achievements and aligning with international ranking standards.

4. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to foster global academic partnerships, increasing the university’s visibility and positive impact on rankings.

5. Collaborate with stakeholders to define areas of research and institutional cooperation with leading universities, boosting academic and scientific influence.

6. Assess the alignment of the university’s strategies with global, regional, and local ranking standards, ensuring long-term objectives are met, and provide proposals for effective alignment.

7. Monitor the university’s progress in regional and international rankings to ensure continuous advancement and improvement.

8. Develop and implement innovative strategic projects to elevate the university’s standing in global and regional rankings.

9. Propose initiatives that reinforce the university’s role as a leading educational and research institution at both regional and global levels.
